My tools include thoughtfully selected hardscape elements as well as native and desirable non native plants that contribute both ecologically and aesthetically. I achieve multi-season interest by selecting plants for flower, fruit, fall color, texture, form and even movement.

Before, During and After

The design process includes assessment of existing amenities opportunities and limitations. In this location, an existing HVAC unit could not be moved. Collaboration with this homeowner led to a richly textured, low maintenance garden of grasslike species, in keeping with their preference for Japanese inspired design. The design was drawn to scale; plants were identified by Latin and Common Name, size and quantity. Procured and installed by a trusted contractor, the plantings provide a striking alternative to traditional foundation plantings.

And…Locally grown, seasonal cut flowers

Extremely fresh, locally grown seasonal flowers are simple, pure and genuine - characteristics I believe we all would enjoy more of in our lives. Both the practice of garden design and the production of local cut flowers feed my appreciation for beauty. How can I share that with you?
